cannot get my screen to rotate - Casio G Zone Commando trouble shooting

my gzone commando worked fine when i first got it, then the screen started to not rotate...then it would..then it wouldnt..off and on...now it will not at all, ive tried pulling the battery, ...it will rotate for a while then quit again..i tried factory reset, and same thing happen...tried calibrating the compass...and that didnt help either, i have the box checked by the auto rotate option, just wandering if anyone could help me out...im about ready to throw this phone at a brick wall...but considering that its "indistructable" that probably wont help either..lol...

Mine started this day before yesterday. Screen rotation not working, compass not working, pedometer not working. Power cycle, battery pull, factory reset no joy.

I dont know if it is a software issue or a hardware issue, but since all these apps use the same hardware componet its probably a hardware problem.

This one will be going back just as soon as I can get a replacement sent to me. Its always great to be an early adopter/beta tester...



edit: Just got off the phone with VZW and they are sending me another one. Of course this is the first one they have heard of, but I kind of doubt it.

Happens to me...

I get this behavior sometimes, just tap the phone and it gets itself oriented correctly. Never had the problem where the phone stops rotating and cant get it oriented correctly by tapping the top or side(vertical or horizonal display). So my advice would be to give your rugged phone a good whollup before you start sending it to the factory

Giving it a good whollop wont fix a bad magnometer, and it runs the risk of breaking something else that wont be covered under warrenty.

Send it back while its under warrenty - one phone call and if you make the call in the morning you will have a replacement the next day.
