FWIW, a battery pull got it working again, however, in doing a search I see this is a somewhat common issue or at least several others have complained about it and they had to return theres for replacement as not even a hard reset would fix it. Would work for awhile then F up again. I hope that doesnt happen.

Gingerbread was supposed to have fixed that problem from my reading.
Apparently not.
It sounds more like an orientation sensor issue to me.
You can change the operating system as many times as you want,
but if the sensor itself is bad...it isnt going to help anything.

Yeah, since some others have had this and could not get a fix for it, Im a tad concerned it might come back and be an issue. I agree its something to do with the orientation function and has nothing to do with anything OS wise.

Next time it quits check to see if the compass still works. When mine quit rotating the compass quit too.

Download a phone tester app or this app called bubble. The bubble is a bubble level tool, but itll let you know if your sensors are working. If it keeps up, you might need a certified like new

Thanks for the tip, so far it has only been once and a battery pull fixed. Some others said the same then also said it got worse until it stopped working altogether, So , guess Ill wait and see.
